C.F. Richards Teachers and Staff

 Arelys Santiago

Ms. Santiago has been teaching children since she was 15 years old, when she was hired by the Bashful Giraffe Early Learning Center in Lynchburg, Virginia. She has been privileged to work with children from ages 1-12. Ms. Santiago has been the lead teacher in her classrooms over the past few years, most recently leading a 3-4 year old class. Ms. Santiago is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education through Liberty University. Her philosophy on education, “Each child is distinctive in their learning abilities and it is my job to help motivate and challenge their young minds. Through God’s love and character a child’s knowledge can be expanded in order to reach their milestones. A safe and a creative fun environment is key to everyday learning in my class.” We are excited to have Ms. Santiago's enthusiasm, experience, and loving care to our youngest students.

Mr. Robinson has been teaching in multi-grade elementary classrooms for 9 years. His students are often busy creating - whether it is designing a models of a body system, a cell, or landforms  or rewriting the words to a song. He has a Master’s Degree in Outdoor Education from Southern Adventist University. When Mr. Robinson isn’t studying tree bark and petting caterpillars, he enjoys integrating technology into the curriculum and playing Legos with his kids. He enjoys building relationships with students that continue beyond his years as their teacher.
